How to connect your WhatsApp Business account

A complete public guide for operators and owners. Follow this sequence to avoid setup delays and pass Meta checks smoothly.

What you need before you start

Prepare these requirements first. Missing one item is the most common reason a connection gets blocked.

Meta Business Portfolio

A verified Meta Business Portfolio (formerly Business Manager) where your business details are accurate and active.

Business verification status

If Meta asks for verification, submit legal business documents and wait for approval before final activation.

WhatsApp display name policy

Your display name must match your brand and follow WhatsApp naming policy (no misleading or generic names).

Phone number readiness

Use a number that can receive verification and is not actively bound to an incompatible WhatsApp configuration.

Business Portfolio checklist

Inside Meta Business Portfolio, make sure these sections are complete before connecting in Wazaj.

  • Legal business name and website domain are consistent.
  • Business address, support email, and phone are valid.
  • At least one admin has full Business Portfolio access.
  • Security settings (2FA for admins) are enabled.

Open Connect WhatsApp

Go to the connect flow and choose your target business account context.

Authorize with Meta

Log in to Meta, select the correct Business Portfolio, then approve permissions requested for onboarding.

Select or create assets

Choose the WhatsApp Business Account and phone number asset, or create them if they do not exist yet.

Complete verification checks

Finish OTP or required validation prompts. If verification is pending, save and resume after approval.

Confirm connected status

Return to Wazaj and verify the account is connected. Then test a message from inbox or test tools.

Portfolio not eligible

Confirm business verification and admin role permissions in Meta first.

Phone number rejected

Use another number or remove conflicting WhatsApp bindings before retrying.

Permission mismatch

Reconnect using the correct admin account that owns or manages the selected Business Portfolio.
